Another big masterclass! Tom Hutchinson is less of a household name in the brass playing community than some of the other masterclasses you’ll see posted here, but not on account of any lack of merit on his part. He is the principal cornet player of the Cory Band in Wales, who are one of the top British style brass bands in the world. This musical tradition doesn’t get as much attention here as it does in some other places in the world, but it’s an incredibly deep tradition where brass playing excellence is concerned.
I’ll write more in depth about this style of playing and local examples in a future post, but for the moment, the masterclass is free, and is this Saturday, December 17th at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Redeemer. (Bloor and Avenue)
